Meagan Karvonen, Ph.D.

Dr. Karvonen is the Director of Accessible Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Systems (ATLAS). Dr. Karvonen has nearly 20 years of experience in large-scale assessments for students with disabilities, and in particular, alternate assessments for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. Prior to joining KU, Dr. Karvonen was a tenured faculty member in educational research and measurement. Dr. Karvonen has nearly 20 years of experience managing externally funded projects, including serving as Principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI on projects totaling more than $30 million. She has co-authored more than 40 articles and book chapters, more than 50 technical reports, and 100 presentations.
